Sarek Trekking Jacket

hdjfhks smallIs the Sarek Trekking Jacket from Fjällräven suitable for packrafting? There are definitely better materials for white water rafting than the G-1000 Original, but if you are doing long trekking and paddling flat water, it works pretty well.

The jacket is water resistant, but to avoid getting wet from dripping and splashing when paddling, impregnate the sleeves with Greenland Wax. It is also wind resistant; I have been driving my scooter bike in speeds of 75 km/hours without any wind blowing through. (It’s a pretty unorthodox test, I know.)

scout2 smallThe weight is 925 g in size M and the jacket  has no inner lining and is quite large in size so that you may put a lot of insulating garments under. (Take that in account if you order it online.) Sure, it does not have that ultra light weight that many packrafters are looking for, but no branches will pierce any holes in it either while bushwacking your way to your favourite water.

The two breastpockets works well with the cruiser spray deck on the Alpacka Raft. A spacious hood with a foldable brim protects from bitter winds and rain when on open water. It can be adjusted so it fits the head perfectly.Hooded small

How “big” are you? How tall? And around the chest? And what size are you wearing? I really like this jacket but I’m uncertain about the size…
